I am currently completely obsessed with the US TV series, The Wire. Yes, I know I’m a bit late as it just wrapped up at the end of its fifth season. But it is great plowing through the DVDs – about to start on Season 3. It is such a great show, really lets its characters develop properly, and fascinating portrayal of a city. The main theme is essentially how human beings are shaped by the politics and structure of organisations, like a police department, a drug dealing gang, or a waterfront union. I highly recommend it! Be warned, you will be swearing like a motherf**ker after watching, mos def.
Oh yes me too, mos def! We are waiting for the stupid dvd shop to change our series 3 from nightly to weekly so we can watch it at a leisurely pace…
I’m about halfway through season 1, and loving it!
Just finished watching Series 1 and eagerly waiting for Series 2+3 to come arrive in the mail! I’m not a huge TV or film fan but this is so good it has got me totally hooked. If the rest is like S1 I seriously hope they either do more or someone learns from this and makes something equally good or better in the near future. 5*
