Laptop Woes

// October 17th, 2006 // Geekery, Life

Three years ago I spent $3500 on a Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop. It’s a great machine, very powerful and has served me well. However in quick succession I have lost the sound out jack (emits very fuzzy crackly sound); the cd/dvd drive (only reads every tenth disc or so) and then over the weekend, the backlight blew in the LCD screen. So now I have it plugged into an external monitor so I can keep on doing my work. Bloody annoying. I looked into replacing the backlight myself, but they lost me at the word “solder”. So I’m about to call the laptop doctor.

In other news, university has finished aside from two pesky exams, we are having a series of transition meetings all about getting Archie from kindy to school, Harry will hopefully be starting kindy very soon, we went to see Garfield 2 and it was quite possibly the worst movie I’ve ever seen, and I need a haircut.
