The nominations for the Academy Awards should be announced later today, an event that thrills me no end as I am an Oscar whore! We traditionally have a bit of an Oscar bash and this year will be no different, though we will have to persuade new punters of the crazy fun of laying down hard cash and getting totally sloshed on cheap champagne. It is fun, really.

Anyway I’m going out on a limb this year and trying to predict the nominations! Here are my picks. And the italics are my early prediction for the winner.
