I’ve been selling a few DVDs on TradeMe recently and been getting good prices for them. But just now I received a notification that one of my listings has been withdrawn because it doesn’t have a NZ Classification sticker on it. So I rang up the Labelling Body to enquire. Turns out I can’t sell any of my Australian DVDs secondhand unless I physically send them to the Labelling Body to have all their special features checked etc and a label applied. Of course this costs $25 – $35 per DVD!
Looks like I’m stuck with my collection forever… either that or I could sell them on Australian eBay I guess… Bummer!
Those bloody labels are so ugly too.
How pathetic!
Could you, you know, just theoretically, post a list of all these DVDs that you’re now stuck with, so that someone could thereoretically decide if they wanted to buy them from you?
you could give them all to me!
I’m afraid they’re rather dull Joanna, but here they are:
Wonder Boys
Desperately Seeking Susan
Slums of Beverly Hills
A Simple Plan
I did manage to sell a few before I realised I had fallen foul of the law!
Slums of Beverly Hills is great! I wish Natasha Lyonne hadn’t turned into such a junkie, she was always so cool.
