Tragic Loss of Camera (Again)
I seem to be cursed when it comes to digital cameras. And now my beautiful little Ixus 500 is broken! Jan dropped it, tried to catch it but just managed to whack it into the floor even harder. Now the lens won’t retract back inside the body and it just says “E18″… going to call Canon now but apparently E18s are usually “not cost effective to repair”.
Wah! I feel like I’ve lost a limb - what will become of the Flickr junkie now?

Oh dear, cursed indeed. You need a bouncable, rubber coated one like those Nokia phones.

I am tickled to see that my birthday has been added to the Important Dates List, but oh so sad to see that you have the wrong date! 28th please! I know it is an obscure date, not round or metric or even prime, but it is the same date as Fred’s (if that will help you at all) and of course Fred’s date is one day after Archie’s, just 2 months later! OK? Confused yet?

Sorry about that Karen!! I have a mental block cos my brother’s is on the 29th and I always think you are the same date. And yes, it is a rather TIMELY disaster, but still sad - I loved my little Ixy too, so convenient and tiny and yet 5 megapixels…. woe!

We had a non-digital Ixy, and it got dropped in the sea. We were amazed that they still paid us $300 insurance. Might be worth a claim?

After a debacle with a lost Canon battery … for which I was responsible I think, I bought an el cheapo camera.
Now we have a cheap Kodak for work, the glovebox, chuck around stuff and a more expensive camera (a Canon ixus with a new battery) for important stuff.
