Post-Birthday

Monday, August 15th, 2005

Went out for dinner on Friday to Floriditas on Cuba Street. It was very nice, classily paisley, and Sam chose delicious wines for us to sample. Then it was off to the Matterhorn where for some reason we ended up doing absinthe shots. Some justification was heard along the lines of “I was/will soon be [...]

Art by Emily

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

I received a parcel from my grandmother today containing all the letters and drawings I sent to her over the years. This was the most entertaining of the pictures. Obsessive personality and love of blasters seems to be showing through early. But is that Darth Vader or Chewie on Ned’s chest?

Transfixed

There’s an article on Stuff today about a little boy with Down Syndrome in Wellington. Coincidentally we are going to have coffee with him and his mum tomorrow afternoon. Yesterday we took the boys for an outing on the Cable Car. Archie loved [...]

Mad Mission

Friday, August 5th, 2005

A crazy expedition is happening tomorrow organised by our mate Lyndee-Jane. She has directed a play in Palmerston North called Shaggy Dog Story, so she’s organised a bus to take her friends up from Wellington and back. (For those unfamiliar, Palmy is about 2 hours north of Wellington).
The plan is to leave at 4pm, [...]

Which neighborhood in Manhattan is best for you?

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

You scored as Alphabet City. Alphabet City lies to the east of First Ave., south of 14th St., and north of Houston St. Alphabet City is a bohemian paradise filled with artists and poets. It helps if you know some spanish. There are not many subways out there. But, it’s fine if you ride a [...]
