Isolated
Poor old me - I’ve been cut off from the net almost all day - it’s a really weird feeling, I’m so dependent on it nowadays. However just before it went down, I managed to get my first post up on Wellingtonist. Thanks all for welcoming me to the team.
I took Archie for an audiology test this morning at Wellington Hospital. Kids with Down Syndrome often have issues with blockages in their ears as they have smaller ear canals and nasal passages, and Arch had to have grommets in a couple of years ago. So his hearing gets checked regularly. Good news though as everything is completely normal range.
The hearing test they do on little kids cracks me up - it involves flashing lights and dnacing rabbits with cymbals - guess you have to be there!

Good to hear (!) that everything is good for the wee man.
Um, “grommets” … what are they/is it?

grommets are creatures that eat ear wax and talk to you in a whisper telling you to do bad things…

Yes, those evil creatures, but grommets are also small tubes that are put through the eardrum to allow fluid from the inner ear to drain out, thus greatly improving the hearing!
