That’s Entertainment
I watched two great movies over the weekend. The Corporation was an amazing documentary about, yes, corporations. It was fascinating yet very depressing as well. I don’t think it told you anything you didn’t already know about the evil effects of the profit motive, but somehow when it was all told to you at once, it was a bit overwhelming. Still it’s highly recommended. I might even BUY the DVD myself.
Then finally we got to see The Incredibles (on loan), and loved it, of course. Cunning how the long suffering parents of the target audience could relate so well to Mr & Mrs Incredible! At least I did! (15 years and 50 pounds later ;-) Stunningly done though and hilarious.

We saw The Incredibles (or the “Invicibles” as I am destined to wreongly call it for the rest of my days) on the w/e. Whilst it was amazing to look at (was that a real forest or CGI!?!?) I didn’t enjoy it as miuch as other Pixar ones - lacked a certaion something, the spark wasn’t quite there, I dunno.
Did you see the DVD extra shorts though? Boundin’ was brilliant - cuddly, cute, cracking and creative. Loved it.

You want to be disapointed by a Pixar film?… then just wait for Cars. I saw some “work in progress” of it recently and I foudn it amazingly awful! Yawn! premise. Yawn! characters. Yawn! vocal talent.
I think giving John Lasseter the chance to make this unoriginal, self-indulgent film is Pixar’s parting shot to Disney for their last remaining movie under the turbulent five original picture co-production agreement. Yeah of course they would spend USD$70 mil just to do that ;-)

That saddens me
