Girl Guide biscuits are fattening. I think they should ban selling door to door - to dangerous and quite a number of us work odd hours. I am a shift worker and hate to be awakened. In my area they don't advertise that they are selling biscuits. Used to on the day. I think I have missed them in the last few years. I did ask the local Guide Leader and she told me she doesn't order a lot only the bear minimum - hard to sell. Better off catering for events or walkathons.

yum yum YUM! i sold girl guide bikkies for years cos of having 3 older (guide) sisters and then me being a dutiful brownie and all. but hated guides, got all rebellious and stuff i spose (yeah bigtime...). on a similar door-to-door-sales-in-uniform note, our bruv had scout mints (caramel AND mint, hmmm) to sell but ate the whole lot, puked and then dad had to pay for the lot. kids rule!

Ahh that's classic. My own girl guide logo nibbling has been replaced by inhaling fistfulls of the addictive chocolate-dipped girl guide mini's. Damn them!

I used to be a Brownie and we sold Girl Guide biscuits. They were rather bland from memory, and my Brownie career was rather short.

Do they go all soggy from all that oral attention? Ew! ;-)

I think they did have these many years ago... or am I thinking of the tales you told me of these ones... anyway, I have not heard of this here recently in Oz [only in US TV & movies, of course] but I think the distrust of accepting food [or indeed candy] from strangers would have prevented prolification, and all those evil doers who want to waste their drugs by doping annonymous children. Actually, I don't think I could actually eat one thanks to the neuroses instilled in me by my upbringing. However, I am sure it's only a matter of time before the Australian streets are filled with gleeful "Brownies" skipping thru the suburbs hawking their goods and skimming the profits. Similar to the adoption of Halloween here - oh gee, that's a real local tradition now isn't it?!
