Photo Crisis!
I have started trying to transfer Le Blogge into WordPress and am having a quandary about the photolog section. WordPress doesn’t seem to have an option to make thumbnails on upload, and I certainly don’t have time to manually make thumbnails. So either I have to transfer the photolog to some sort of service like Flickr, or try and incorporate something like Gallery, or write my own custom gallery script so it functions exactly as it does now.
I really like some of Flickr’s features, but I also really like my current setup. I shall have to ponder some more.
In the meantime here is a picture of me in 1973, when I was cute and liked playing with blocks.

Photoshop has a batch facility which can churn out some thumbnails for you [as part of the web gallery batch as well]… or is this still too much of a hassle?
Nice to see the love of block spans the generations.

Flickr is good but the best features are reserved for paid accounts :(

Don’t know if it would help you - I use Google’s Hello (http://www.hello.com) for my Blogger site - it may be linked to Blogger though (also a Google owned thing).
But, the other Google (there, that’s the 3 mentions out of the way :-) tool I use is Picasa - that will probably have the tools you want. Have to upload the piccies yourself though.
Hope it helps somehow

I downloaded Picasa but I find it more irritating than useful, so I just use the usual windows-type folders to organise my photos. As for posting them, I use a complex combination of photobucket, hello and flickr.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It’s a complex issue I think! Hello and Picasa seem to be pretty Blogger-specific… My main problem is that I like them as they are so want to replicate that really. I have found a few WordPress plugins that hopefully I can customise so we’ll have a sortie down that track…
