Magic Ultrasound Wand

The fertility clinic was very interesting - got an ultrasound and got to see all my inner womanly bits. Even my little ovaries dutifully popping out eggs. All looks fine and normal, thank god. The doctor was very good at explaining how to interpret an ultrasound, so I learned something too! Jan came as well, finally her chance to peer at my insides - god knows I’ve seen hers often enough! The next test I have to have is some ghastly x-ray to check that my fallopian tubes are open, involves putting x-ray fluid stuff into my uterus - noice. It’s “uncomfortable”, according to the doctor, but then what would he know?

The only depressing thing was that they weighed me, and I am back to my pre-Atkins weight and then some. That’s where throwing caution to the carbohydrate winds gets you. So I have resolved to spend the six month quarantine getting fitter and eating better, in preparation for the bodily trauma that is pregnancy and birth!

Jan & I went out to dinner afterwards which was very nice. Even on a Monday night, Courtenay Place was quite busy and had a good vibe to it. We are both happy in our decision to return.

    More babies, how exciting!
Try the low GI thing that I have to do. You get to eat some carbs, but not the bad ones that send your insulin haywire. Plus, it’s doable for life (well, it had better be!)
