My bro Sam appears on a new CD out now in New Zealand. It’s called “Live At Bats” by Fly My Pretties.
For those of you not yet aware, local boy Barnaby Weir (Black Seeds, Flash Harry) has a certain knack for the “pop” song that goes way beyond the pleasant reggae grooves of the Black Seeds. This musical collaboration put together by Weir is further proof of the growth of his considerable talents. Performed, filmed and recorded at Bats Theatre in Wellington over four nights, this live set is as much a testament to the bunch of Wellington’s finest young “pop” musicians involved as it is to the vision of Weir… Highlights include Sam Scott’s stunning “Quiet Girl”.

Indeed it is a highlight… I also like ‘Let’s Roll’ and ‘Lucky’ and… pretty much the whole thing apart from the last track where the ‘audience participation’ goes a little overboard.
