Panda Janda

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

Yesterday poor Jan’s eye had a nasty collision with Archie’s skull - I have never heard Jan swear so loudly! Archie was fine, more scared by the yelling. Then this morning, evidence of the severity of the clash appeared in the form of a large shiner! It’s very impressive.

Dual Sleepage

Wednesday, November 17th, 2004

We have got both the boys sleeping in the same room now. It’s a real breakthrough! The first night of course was a bit of a nightmare, Archie woke up Harry woke up Archie and so on, but by the second night they seemed to have got used to each other and last night they […]

Me and Harry are sick. Bleargh. Nose and head are swollen and explodey. Sadly I have big deadline today so I am struggling on. Let’s hope the Sudafed kicks in soon.

Car Surprise

Saturday, November 13th, 2004

We misplaced Jan’s mobile in the car, so were searching, and when I bent down to look under the passenger seat, there was a 6 CD stacker under there! All this time, we never knew we had such a thing. So remember boys and girls, always look under the seats when you buy a car. […]

Tauhou, the Silver-eye

Friday, November 12th, 2004

A bird has flown into our house and it won’t fly out again. I’m pretty sure it is a Tauhou (Silvereye).
A small olive-green forest bird with white rings around the eyes. They have a fine tapered bill and a brush tipped tongue like the Tui and Korimako, the bellbird, for drinking nectar. It is […]

Oh… My… God…

Thursday, November 11th, 2004

Look what has just come up on Trade Me - a genuine chakram!
I want it so bad! But I am too poor at the moment… where is my fairy godmother when I need her? But then, Christmas is coming up - nudge nudge beg grovel.
I recommend you download a copy of Konfabulator, finally available for […]

Topical Dreaming

Wednesday, November 10th, 2004

Had a very weird dream last night that I was a reporter who volunteered to go to Iraq. We travelled there in a couple of old vans, and all the soldiers were women, mostly quite old and very young.
The compound we arrived at was like a motel but surrounded by high fences, and outside […]

Pop Music

Monday, November 8th, 2004

Seems like there is a wave of good pop music coming our way lately… When the world is in a terrible place, it’s good to forget one’s problems in a catchy hook and a nose tapping beat!
My top 5:
1) Destiny’s Child - Lose My Breath
2) Delta’s new album - Mistaken Identity
3) Gwen Stefani - What […]
