Chaos Suffers A Small Bruise
Bought a new Playstation game yesterday - Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds. It was reduced from $90 to $49! So, having lusted after it for a while, I gave in to temptation. It’s fantastic! You play as quite a few of the characters and there are many amusing one liners to be had as you slice, dice and stake the bad guys. A must have for Buffy fans.
My favourite line so far is when Willow finds a medipak, she sometimes says “I can be Nurse Willow! Tara’s gonna love this…” ;-)
The only issue is that Archie has discovered the eject button on the PS2, and keeps ejecting midway through a level, with the result that I have played level 2 about five times…. But we now have a cabinet for the electronics, need a drill though to put a hole for the cords in it.
Jan and I realised tonight we are much tougher on Harry’s crying when put to bed than we ever were with Archie. With Archie we couldn’t bear to hear him cry and would be in there at the drop of a hat, patting and singing to him. With Harry, we’re more like “Whatever!”. Or as my friend Clare once said, “They’re going to cry anyway so may as well leave them to it” (paraphrase)
Discovered that an old schoolmate, Rebekah Palmer, is now a novelist - I saw her interviewed on morning telly. Have duly bought her first book, The Thirteenth Life Of Frank Finnegan. Seems like our class churned out more than its share of writers - there was another one too - Emma Neale - and there’s me of course - not!!

Thanks for broadcasting my heartless ideas about how to look after babies to all and sundry! I do remember trying to be tough with my babies, but not really suceeding on a regular basis. My new theory is that theories about babies don’t really work, you just muddle along the best you can, and hopefully everyone survives. Interesting about our classmates all becoming authors, except us! Oh well, maybe we’ll come into our own one day…
