Recently we received a lovely care package from Australia from my buddy ACP. It contained (among other things) the last five eps of the L Word. Watched two last night and I just have to say, it’s turned into a fantastic show – the drama, the humour, the tragedy! The horrible Christian family organisation woman! That bitch! By the way, she was played by Helen Shaver who was one of the leads in Desert Hearts, the first ever lesbian movie with a happy ending.
It seems that Shane is turning into the Phil Hunter of the L Word (Bill reference, sorry)
It really has got better and better considering the first eps were pretty trashy and predictable.
Anyway, I am imbued with gratitude to acp for sending them over, and to the cast and crew of the show for making such great television!
Of course, it could all turn to crap in the last three eps…
PS Nice to see Snoop Dogg in it as well – he pops up in the strangest places – heh heh…
Oh wow, you are the only other person I know who would recognise Helen Shaver and pick up the Desert Hearts segue. Trying to talk to friends here they were all “Desert what, Helen who?” Part of the fun of The L Word are those sly references to previous lesbian films etc
Wait till you see Kelly Lynch as a drag king, she does an outstanding job (Although 3 of Hearts was a crap film)
