Garage Sale

Garage SaleThe garage sale went extremely well. Despite a dreadful night on Friday (late to bed, sick Jan, awakening Archie) we managed to get up at 6am and start moving stuff out the front. A lot of professionals turned up, starting from 7:45am, and quickly snaffled all the good stuff - one guy bought all the CDs for $50, plus a box of used VHS tapes for $10, and took the entire “free” box as well! Then we just had lots of passers by and regular punters. At the end of the day we had shed a lot of crap and made quite a bit of cash.

We still had a lot of stuff left so decided to go again on Sunday. Rosie did some great work with chalk on the pavements around the Metro and again we got a pile of foot traffic. Then at the end of the day Ned & Dins just took everything left off to Vinnie’s. With time for one last sale out of the boot of their car - the remainder of my LPs for $5.

So we are now nearly $1000 richer, and freed of a lot of possessions. Thanks go to Glyn, Helen, Ned, Dins and Rosie who all came down and put in time manning the shopfront or babysitting the kiddies. I am feeling much more prepared now for our departure… if only I could find my passport…
