Well, we had a great time at the Easter Show. There were a few periods of drenching rain but we managed not to get caught in them. Got several showbags - Simpsons, Cat In The Hat, Terminator 3 and Shrek 2 - only the hat was left out of the Shrek one, which was of course the thing we wanted, and we didn’t notice till we got home. Bugger! Lesson in life, always check your showbags after purchase. Probably Australians are all taught this at a young age.

Archie had a wonderful time, it was really lovely to see him enjoying it so much this year. He was crazy for the animals, especially the horses - he kept doing the sign for ‘horse’ over and over. He got to ride on the carousel and go in the petting zoo and see the racing pigs. Harry didn’t get quite as much out of it but was very well behaved and quite astounded by the sheep.

The woodchopping was great this year as we saw the International Women’s Relay - all girls, plus every style of chopping, plus Australia vs NZ, all simultaneously! Australia won though, typical. And as we were leaving, Jan found a little lost boy and then we managed to find his mother, so felt suitably heroic, but damp. We were there from 9:30am till 5:30pm, so it was an exhausting day, but fantastic.
