War

Yesterday was a sad day for the world as war finally came to Iraq. Jan and I were sitting, watching the tv, feeling more and more depressed. Just had to go and meet at Town Hall in the city, as had been arranged if war started. Amazingly 20,000 other people felt the same way. It was a sombre but peaceful atmosphere as we marched through the city and down to Circular Quay. There were heaps of police outside the US Consulate but apart from that, a fairly low police presence.

If you are in Sydney, please come to the next massive rally, this Sunday at 12:30, Belmore Park (near Central Station). We will be marching to the Domain.

Here are some vital links in wartime:

  • What Really Happened
  • Where Is Raed
  • A think tank war: Why old Europe says no
  • Michael Moore
  • Operation Oily Residue
  • Lies, Damned Lies, and Ultimatums

On a lighter note, our annual Academy Award party is coming up on Monday night. Competition as always is fierce for the grand prize. Good luck to all the entrants, but I will definitely be winning this year!
